Angesichts Altmaiers dubioser Katastrophenmeldung, die Energiewende würde ‚uns‘ 1 Billion Euro kosten, vergisst man gern, dass es nicht nur um die Frage konventioneller versus erneuerbarer Energien geht, sondern auch um dezentrale versus zentrale Energieproduktion und -versorgung. Gänzlich unter den Tisch fällt dabei, dass der Versuch der großen Energiekonzerne, sich die bestehenden zentralistischen und monopolistischen Marktstrukturen auch in der zukünftigen Welt der erneuerbaren Energien zu sichern, in vielen Ländern des globalen Südens (und nicht nur hierzulande) zu heftigen Konflikten führt. Several indigenous communities at the Isthmus region of Oaxaca are struggling against the construction of giant wind farms. In the end of April, the Casa (de los Amigos) received an amazing delegation of indigenous ikoots activists form San Dionisio del Mar that were traveling to Mexico City to plead to the public, the press and the Senate. ‚We are not against this technology,‘ one member told us. ‚On the contrary. But these giant corporations go right around the people to plan these megaprojects on our land. Most locals don’t ever receive the benefits of the project, the transnationals divide the community by paying off a few, and those who disagree are met with repression.
